Sleigh ride in Zakopane: frequently asked questions

The sleigh ride costs PLN 180 for an adult and PLN 160 for a child up to 12 years. A child up to 4 years rides free if they do not take their own seat. With online booking you pay a reservation fee of PLN 30 per person and the rest on the day of the ride. The current prices are in the offer.

Minibus transport from an agreed stop and back, a torchlit sleigh ride, about an hour of Highlander feast with a live band, unlimited food with a free tasting of Highlander cheeses and regional spirits, and accident and health insurance for the whole event.

The whole trip takes about 3 hours including transfers: about an hour on the sleigh and about an hour of Highlander feasting at the bonfire. We describe it step by step in the programme.

The ride takes place in Zakopane, along the Gubałówka ridge, with views of the Tatra Mountains. Transport is included: our minibus picks participants up at an agreed stop and takes them back to the same place after the feast. See the route and directions.

We guarantee pick-up from stops in Zakopane, Olcza, Kościelisko and Pardałówka. Guests from other places can get to one of these points after calling us beforehand. On the day of the ride we call to confirm the exact time and pick-up place.

When there is no snow, horse-drawn wagons (fasiągi) for 10 or 12 people replace the sleighs, and the route leads through the village of Ząb to the viewpoint at Furmanowa.

The organiser may cancel the ride by 12:00 on the day of the ride because of the weather, low attendance or other external factors. You are then entitled to a new date or a refund of the deposit.

A deposit or the purchase of a ticket is equivalent to a reservation for a specific day and hour, and a refund is not available if the customer cancels. Not arriving at the agreed place and time is treated as a cancellation, and the reservation is cancelled.

Layered clothing works best: warm socks, insulated ankle boots, a hat, a scarf and thick gloves. The temperature drops considerably in the evening, and warm blankets wait on the sleighs.

Sausage to roast yourself at the bonfire, country bread with lard, homemade bigos, extras (bread, ketchup, mustard), hot tea with a shot of spirit for adults, tea with raspberry juice and lemon for children, and mulled wine. The food is unlimited. On top of that there is a free tasting of Highlander cheeses and regional spirits.

The safety of animals and the comfort of all participants are our priority. Please call us before booking to agree whether you can bring your pet. Because of the loud music, the horse team and the bonfire, the event can be very stressful for some dogs.
